The institute of PNG geoscientists is developing into a professional organisation covering the interests of geoscientists, whether locally-based or from abroad, in the specialised fields of geology, geophysics, geochemistry, engineering geology (geotechnical engineering), environmental geology, hydrogeology, or other branches of the geosciences profession.
